It is really sad to see that Google’s Youtube is deleting one good reggaementary after the other.  Due to copyright restrictions some brilliant movies aren’t available anymore. A shame – but still take a look what’s online and enjoy. If you want to download Youtube videos for further studying go and get this powerful Firefox extension. And now have fun with the posts that follow up. Cheers!

- the traditional steel pan competition aka 30th National Panorama Championship that will be held at Hyde Park on Saturday from 12 – 4:30 pm. The world music stage is on fire from 5 pm until 9:30 pm. The following steel drum bands will be taking part:

Caribbean Steel International Community Group (1st year), Croydon Steel Orchestra, Ebony Steelband (defending champions), Glissando Steel Orchestra, London All Stars Steel Orchestra, Mangrove Steel Band, Metronomes Steel Orchestra, Pantasia Steel Band, Real Steel (based in Plymouth), Southside Harmonics, Stardust Steel Orchestra.

- Children’s day. The sunday is reserved for the younger generation and families. This day is the most colourful day of the carnival. The official opening is marked by the procession of steelbands. It starts at the junction of Ladbroke Grove and Kensal Road. the children’s day parade is from 10 am to 9 pm.

- Monday, the bank holiday. This is the time when it’s getting ballistic. Soundsystems are sending their vibes across Notting Hill and caribean parades change the scene on the streets again. Great atmosphere. Tune in to the sound of Channel One, Jah Observer, the great Aba Shanti I and many more.
